Larry Roberts, a member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, joined the National Indian Gaming Commission as General Counsel in 2010. A 1995 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School and former vice president of ILSA, Larry started his legal career in the United States Department of Justice’s Honors Program. As a trial attorney, Mr. Roberts handled a variety of administrative law and federal Indian law cases involving tribal jurisdiction, regulatory authority, reservation boundaries, and tribal reserved treaty rights. Larry also worked in EPA’s Office of General Counsel, providing counsel on the implementation of federal environmental programs in Indian Country. Thereafter, he worked in private practice. He is a former Chair of the Native American Resources Committee, American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. He is a member of the Washington D.C. Bar and the Wisconsin Bar.
